Belgrade Open School (BOS) will, during 2026, with the financial support of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Foundation, coordinate the activities of Coalition 27, with the aim of improving its work, visibility, and impact in the field of environmental protection.

About Coalition 27

Coalition 27 is an informal network of eight civil society organizations in Serbia, engaged in environmental protection issues within the context of Serbia’s European Union accession process, with a particular focus on Chapter 27 - Environment and Climate Change.

It was established in 2014 with the aim of contributing to the alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis, as well as to improving its implementation in practice.

The Coalition consists of the following civil society organizations:

• Alternative for Safer Chemicals
• Belgrade Open School
• The Environment Improvement Center
• Environmental Engineering Group
• Climate Action Network Europe (CAN Europe)
• Young Researchers of Serbia
• World Wide Fund for Nature – WWF Adria
• Bird Protection and Study Society of Serbia, as an associate member

Through joint work, the members of Coalition 27 develop analyses and recommendations for the improvement of public policies, publish annual Shadow Reports on Serbia’s progress under Chapter 27, conduct research and public campaigns, and implement activities aimed at strengthening public participation in environmental decision-making processes.

Project activities will be implemented in the period from 11 February to 30 November 2026.
