Third National Advisory Board Meeting within ALMIT project

The third National Advisory Board Meeting within the project ALMIT - Acceleration Of Labour Market Integration Of Immigrants Through Mapping Of Skills And Trainings, was held on November 1, 2019 at  Charitable Foundation of the Serbian Orthodox Church "Philanthropy". The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Employment Service, Tempus Foundation, Serbian Association of Andragogists, Psychosocial Innovation Network, Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, Red Cross, as well as project team members.

The project team, Belgrade Open School, Municipality of Sid and Charitable Foundation of the Serbian Orthodox Church "Philanthropy", presented the main goals of the project, results so far, as well as plans for further work.

Representatives of the Commissariat for Refugees positively rated the educational activities, which could be a special form of preparation for the integration programs they are implementing for participants who expressed their intention to seek asylum. On behalf of the Red Cross, Dušica Poletan spoke about the challenges migrant population are facing with, as well as the perspective of the migrant situation in the context of current socio-political events. Jana Mišovic, representative of the Serbian Association of Andragogists, spoke about the results of the research about educational needs of migrants in Serbia, as well as the importance of motivation to participate in educational activities.

Dragana Levićanin, in the name of project team, presented the future plans for the project, which include individual counseling as well as career guidance for the participants involved in the project activities so far. Members of the National Advisory Group pointed out  that there is a strong need to work on developing transversal skills that would be meaningful to the participants no matter where they were.

ALMIT - Acceleration Of Labour Market Integration Of Immigrants Through Mapping Of Skills And Trainings project aims to find ways to facilitate the integration of migrants into the labor market and during the project, will be piloted several trainings of Serbian language, and civic and intercultural skills sessions. This project is funded by the European Union Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI).
