The Roadmap focuses on the state of play and challenges regarding the energy transition in the Western Balkans, focusing on Serbia, North Macedonia and Kosovo*. The objective of this Roadmap is to bring about a change in perspective. The aim is to move away from the image of a region of multiple crises and instead navigate public attention towards initiatives at local and municipality level that create change. Recognising individual legal and economic structures, this paper argues that good practice models from Serbia, North Macedonia and Kosovo* that aim to mitigate climate change and have success at this are worth  replicating in the other countries of the region and beyond.
