XXVIII Generation completes the Future Studies Fall semester

In the Fall semester of the academic year, 2020/2021 students of XXVIII Generation attended lectures on two modules, started the internship programme, Alumni2Students mentoring programme, and participated in many extra – curricular activities.  This semester lasted from October 3 to December 23 and since we all wanted to take care of each other and be responsible, we spent most of the semester in the online classroom of the Belgrade Open School. However, that did not stop us from learning, developing and exchanging new ideas. On the module The Future of the State and Society, through interdisciplinary approaches students gained insight into the new trends, problems and challenges in areas such as ecology and environment, international relations, the future of the workforce and many others. By acquiring new skills, students are developing their critical thinking to help them cope with future changes in the best possible way. On The Skills for the Future module, students were encouraged to develop their public speaking, communication and storytelling skills, but also to reflect on the importance of leadership and creating opportunities in the future.

The lectures were accompanied by many extra-curricular activities. XXVIII Generation had the opportunity to attend special lectures where we talked about how to improve the education system, whether we understand and appreciate street art and culture, but also why we have more and more doubts about science. Students participated in the movie marathon, but also in the BOS Book Club, where they discussed important ideas.

In the Fall semester, the internship programme started and first students began their internships in some of the BOS partner institutions and companies. The introductory workshop for the Alumni2Students mentoring programme was held in December. Students met their mentors with whom they will talk about future academic and professional plans, get useful advice and share their visions for the future. Through the cooperation of younger and older BOS members, BOS encourages intergenerational cooperation and support.

Future Studies continue in the Spring semester when XXVIII Generation will attend new lectures, continue internship and mentoring programmes, go to the Teamwork Winter School and do their final projects.
