The goal of the project "Energy Mix of the Open Balkans" is to investigate the possibilities and prerequisites for increased integration of the energy systems of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, especially in the area of renewable energy sources, which would facilitate easier management and balancing of these sources and reduce dependence on the import of electricity and fossil fuels. This initiative will be implemented through research conducted by experts from the mentioned countries.
Planned activities:
- Formation of a research team composed of experts from Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia
- Conducting research and preparing a regional concept
- Mapping of stakeholders who will be informed about the results of the analysis (representatives of governments, civil society, business sector and academic community)
- Organizing a regional workshop
- Defining possible steps for further actions or regional cooperation
The project will be implemented from August 2023 until the end of April 2024 with the support of the Open Society Foundation Serbia.
