Analysis of the legislative framework of air quality in Serbia

Climate change and management of the protected areas in Serbia

This publication is created to improve the resilience of protected areas to climate change by defining basic measures for the prevention and mitigation of the effects of climate change on protected areas and integrating them into management plans for protected areas. In Serbia, an area of 662,402 ha covers 461 protected areas. Within the project “Climate Change and Protected Areas”, 10 protected areas were selected: Tara National Park, Djerdap National Park, Fruska Gora National Park, Kopaonik National Park, Stara Planina Nature Park, Golija Nature Park, Tikvara Nature Reserve, Special Nature Reserve (SRP) Gornje Podunavlje, SRP Obedska bara and SRP Karadjordjevo.

The World Foundation for Nature (WWF) - in cooperation with partners from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey - implemented the project Civil society advocates environmentally friendly socio-economic development (CO-SEED). CO-SEED contributes to the sustainable management of natural resources by supporting the improvement of the legislative framework and taking into account that the decision-making process regarding new infrastructure is more transparent and open to public participation.
