The Open Society Foundations Scholarship Program Alumni Network

The Open Society Foundation (OSF) Alumni Network Scholarship Program in Serbia counts nearly 300 members who have been trained at prestigious universities around the world and today continue to operate in the public, civil and business sector. OSF Scholarship Program includes academic programs that have been active in different time periods, such as the Civil Society Scholar Awards (still running), Undergraduate Exchange Program, Global Supplementary Grant Program, Cambridge Scholarships, Scholarships for Germany, Alumni Grant Programme, University of Oxford Scholarships, Oxford Colleges Hospitality Scheme, Pre-Academic Summer Program.

BOS has recognized the potential members of the alumni network have. They continually contribute to improving the political, social and economic environment in our country through their hard work and efforts. With the aim of strengthening the influence of members of the OSF Alumni Network on public policies and decision-making process not only in Serbia but in the whole region of the Western Balkans, BOS is working on engaging as many alumni as possible in the process of creating and advocating evidence-based policies.

Improving the policy impact of OSF Alumni Network in the Western Balkans

„Improving the policy impact of OSF Alumni Network in the Western Balkans“ is another project that the Belgrade Open School (BOS) has been implementing with the support of the Open Society Foundations (OSF). It aims to incorporate and strengthen the impact of OSF Scholarship Programs alumni on the policy and decision-making process in the Western Balkans. The project will last from November 1, 2016, to August 31, 2017. The project aims to support the development of the Western Balkans (WB) through evidence-based policies and regional cooperation based on the current Berlin Process, which has a goal to support the integration of the WB into the European Union through partnership and the exchange of good practices. 

Fostering OSF Alumni Network of Serbia and the Western Balkans

„Fostering OSF Alumni Network of Serbia and the Western Balkans“ is a project that has been implemented by BOS from June to December 2015 with the support of the Open Society Foundation. This project is a part of an initiative that aims to improve the cooperation among the Open Society Foundation Scholarship Program alumni. The project aims to contribute to regional cooperation in the Western Balkans and to enhance the role of OSF Scholarship Program alumni in conducting regional dialogue concerning the social, political and educational issues.  

OSF Alumni as Policy Advisors in EU integration of the Western Balkans

Project “OSF Alumni as Policy Advisors in EU integration of the Western Balkans” is third project Belgrade Open School implements with support of Open Society Foundations Scholarship Programs in order to support the development of the Western Balkan region founded in evidence-based policy making and regional cooperation. Produced policy proposals in first cycle of project implementation have to be relevant and contribute to the discussions around the summit of Western Balkan states in London scheduled for July 2018. Policy proposals will be prestented at Regional alumni conference in Belgrade.
